Animatics
Hello Everyone,
It’s Josh here from Loveridge Digital, this week on “Getting into it with Loveridge Digital” we are going to cover what an animatic is.
So first i need to set the stage, you have just finalized your storyboard for your next upcoming project and a question comes to mind, what will this actually look like in motion? I mean i like the idea but I’m unsure if i will like it when its finished” In the situation I just described an animatic is used.
An animatic is essentially a string of storyboard images put together with audio to show you how your project will flow in motion. Think of it like a next-generation storyboard. Animatics are typically only used on bigger projects such as feature films or animated pieces as they can be time-consuming to create.
They provide a great insight and further understanding into what your finished project will look like and when working on a higher budget project where your operational costs can be quite high it is a good idea to get an animatic created after the storyboarding phase as it will give you that piece of mind to ensure you will love the flow of the finished piece.
Animatics are also great for spotting flow and narrative issues early on within the production process and can save you from a lot of heartache down the line if a problem is spotted as early as an animatic.
While an animatic may seem like a little overkill for your project it is a vital tool in a production companies toolbox to enable us to provide you with a finished project you will not only be satisfied with but will love.
Thank you very much for taking the time to watch the video, I hope you found it informative and engaging, until next time.
