What is a Call sheet?

Hello Everyone,

It’s Josh here from Loveridge Digital, this week on “Getting into it with Loveridge Digital” we are going to cover what a call sheet is and why it’s important.

If you have ever played a role in any production you may have heard the phrase or term “Call sheet” thrown about during the pre-production process and wondered, “What are they talking about?” Well, wonder no longer, in simple terms a call sheet is essentially the order, details and timing that each key member of a production will need to know for the shoot day, so for example, all actors might have a 9 am call time, which means they are expected on set at 9 am. There also may be parking regulations which would be listed in the call sheet also to ensure everyone is aware of the details. The call sheet will also list any other important information pertaining to the shoot day that everyone needs to know and be aware of to avoid setbacks on the day!

Every project will have its own set of roadblocks and hurdles to overcome, but any additional headaches will be avoided by keeping the call sheet as transparent and concise as possible.
The last thing you want on shoot day is to have your fellow participants call you at 11:00 p.m. because they don’t know where to park, or because they have concerns about the set or what to wear.

Having a call sheet on any production will set your project up for success and ensure that there is little worries or anxieties for the shoot day! This in turn will have a tremendous effect on the quality of the finished project as a worried cast is one of the most destructive elements when it comes to creating a successful shoot day .

Thank you very much for taking the time to watch the video, I hope you found it both informative and engaging! Until Next Time!
