It’s Josh here from Loveridge Digital, this week on “Getting into it with Loveridge Digital” we are going to cover what elements contribute to a videos production cost.

While browsing the internet for a video production company often times you will find that you cannot find much pricing available publicly and often people wonder why? Are production companies’ prices so high that they don’t want to scare you off or is there another more realistic reason as to why many companies will not advertise their pricing?

To keep it short and sweet, most production companies will not have a public “A La Carte” production pricing list as they do not want to set the wrong expectations, Every production is unique and has to be quoted and priced based on the needs of your production, I’m sure you only want to be charged for what you need and nothing more which is why the process is typically tailored to your needs.

Some of the biggest factors for pricing a video include the following

.#1 The skill level of your production company, as with everything in life, you pay for what you get, and the true icons of our industry charge much more than a cookie-cutter company.

.#2 The location and number of shoot days, will it just be a one-day shoot or does your video require a full month of shooting, How far will your production team have to travel, will they have to book storage and accommodation? All these factors play a major role in your quotation.

.#3 The equipment & talent required, Even a 10-second short commercial still requires a vast vast amount of equipment and talent such as Actors , cameras, lighting, set-dressings, the list goes on and on

.#4 Video Length & Style, A 10-second video that is fully animated from custom illustrations may cost more than a 1-hour documentary, it really depends on the vision and scope of the deliverables that you are working within, There is no universal pricing per minute or anything of the like, A true production company will quote you based on your needs as they can change the cost of creation and time needed to complete the production greatly!

The bottom line is unfortunately if you are looking for a quality production company you will probably need to reach out to them for a consultation, but what I can tell you is that by going through this process you can be sure that you will get pricing for what you need & nothing more, obviously, we can only speak for ourselves on that front as there is nefarious companies in the industry, always do your due diligence and I’m sure you will be on the road to success!
